Save The Date The First Global Pest Awareness Day Is On 6th June 2017

News 2017-05-23

The pest industry has finally come together to educate the public on the implications of pests. The first ever Global Pest Awareness Day has been announced to raise awareness on the dangers of pests around the world.

How much do you know about pests and how they affect you, your family and the environment? The World Health Organisation (WHO), the Federation of Asian & Oceania Pest Managements Associations (FAOPMA), the National Pest Management Association in the USA (NPMA) and the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA) have lent their support to establish an initiative to raise awareness on the role of professional pest managers in protecting food, homes, families and the environment in which we live.

Environmental and health hazards caused by pests such as rodents, mosquitoes and snakes are often overlooked in light of seemingly more serious concerns such as casualties caused sharks and bears.

DID YOU KNOW that the tiny mosquito kills approximately two million people a year? Sharks are known to kill 12 people a year and bears kill 90 people. New Zealand is home to a number of deadly pests so it is extremely important to raise awareness for our public and equip them with the right protection.
